Presbyterian Women

Mission

The Presbyterian Women organization is an active and vital part of our church. Four groups called "circles" meet for fellowship, Bible study and service, monthly. Some circles meet at church while other's meet in an individual's home for meals or light refreshments. Meeting times vary for each group.

The women sponsor annually four major events: Mother-Daughter Banquet, Yard Sale, Craftshoppe and the Christmas reception. The Mother-Daughter Banquet celebrated it's 46th anniversary this year. Each year a different circle sponsors this event which is eagerly anticipated each Spring.

In 1977 the women organized "Ye Olde Craft Shoppe" in order to unite the talents of all ages. Many women meet weekly with crochet and knitting needles, sewing machines, saws, glue guns, paints, brushes, sandpaper, plants, canning of vegetables, making jellies, candies, quilts and afghans. The event is held annually the first Friday and Saturday of November.

Over the past 29 years, the CraftShoppe has donated their profits to local charities and purchased many items for the use and upkeep of the church, including carpets, pew cushions, curtains, flooring and furniture. Contributions have been made for repairs to the church building, camp funds, youth work, nursery, organ fund, choir robe fund and donations for catastrophic medical needs and diaster relief.

The Christmas Reception honors our choir and choir director for the hard work in providing such special music celebrating our Lord's birth during the month of December.
